Condolence message by the Executive Chairman of Igbo-Etiti LGA, Hon. Dr. Eric Ogbonna Odo, to the family and people of Enugu North Senatorial Zone on the passing of Senator Okey Ezea.

On behalf of the government and good people of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Distinguished Senator Okey Ezea, the entire Enugu North Senatorial Zone, and all who are affected by this painful departure.

Senator Ezea was a courageous leader, a dedicated public servant, and a true son of Nsukka Zone whose commitment to justice, equity, and the welfare of his people remained unwavering throughout his lifetime. 

His contributions to the political and socio-economic development of Enugu State will remain indelible in our hearts and in our history. His passing is a monumental loss not only to his immediate family but to the entire Nsukka cultural zone. 

We share in the pain and sorrow of Ezea family. We understand that no words can fully heal the deep wound created by this loss, but we pray that the Almighty God grants you the strength, comfort, and peace you need during this difficult time. 

Senator Ezea was a unifying figure whose leadership touched every community within our zone. His voice in the Senate echoed the concerns, struggles, and dreams of our people. His memory will continue to inspire us to stand for truth, uphold justice, and remain committed to the development of our land.

Igbo-Etiti Local Government joins the rest of Enugu North Senatorial Zone and Enugu State at large in mourning this great statesman. We pray that the Lord grants his noble soul eternal rest and that his legacy continues to guide those of us still in the service of our people.

May the soul of Distinguished Senator Ezea find eternal rest in the bosom of the Lord, and may his legacy continue to inspire future generations.

New Bishop consecrated and installed at Nsukka!

Nsukka, Enugu State - A significant event took place on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Golden Valley Hotel Ltd , Nsukka. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Chigbo Agu was consecrated and installed as the first Byzantine Catholic Bishop in Southern Nigeria . The ceremony was performed by three esteemed bishops: - His Grace Most Rev.
