Ex-NASS Members Endorse Gov. Mbah, Eric Odo’s Outstanding Performance.
Former National Assembly members from Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area, from 1999 to date, have unanimously endorsed the Enugu State Governor, Barr. Peter Mbah and the Council Chairman, Dr. Eric Odo, for their outstanding performance in office.
They made this known when the council chairman hosted them at the council headquarters in Ogbede.
The spokesman of the lawmakers, Rt. Hon. Chris Nnadi said their endorsement was informed by the people-centered impact of both leaders within a short time in office.
While applauding Gov. Mbah, for positioning the state on the path of sustained economic prosperity and infrastructural renewal, Nnadi equally commended Odo for his developmental blueprint at the grassroots.
According to Nnadi, the council boss, in the last year, transformed Igbo-Etiti into a hub of developmental initiatives, ranging from social services, health, education, and youth empowerment
“We have seen local government administration in different eras, but what Dr. Eric Odo is doing today is exceptional.
“His leadership has brought Igbo-Etiti to the limelight as a reference point in inclusive governance.
“From attracting state-backed projects to driving community participation and ensuring transparency, Odo has shown that leadership is about impact, not politics,” Nnadi said.
He highlighted Igbo-Etiti’s milestone as the first local government in Enugu State to be validated as Open Defecation Free (ODF), describing it as a major health and sanitation achievement under Odo’s administration.
The former lawmakers urged the people of Igbo-Etiti to rally behind Odo’s administration, stressing that his synergy with Gov. Mbah will bring unprecedented development to the area.
Responding, the council chairman expressed deep appreciation for the endorsement, describing it as an encouragement to do more.
He reiterated his administration’s resolve to consolidate ongoing projects in health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure while also expanding opportunities for youths and women in the local government.
“This endorsement from our elder statesmen and experienced leaders is a clear reminder that we must not relent.
“I see it not just as recognition but as a challenge to continue delivering on our mandate and raising the bar in grassroots development.
“Together with Governor Peter Mbah’s transformative vision, we will make Igbo-Etiti a model council area in Nigeria,” Odo assured.
Other former lawmakers were Rt. Hon. Princess Stella Ngwu and Rt. Hon Stainless Nwodo
