Filmmaking: Igbo-Etiti LG Partners With AGN To Promote Culture, Tourism.

The chairman of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area, Dr. Eric Odo has said that his administration would do everything possible to promote the culture and tourism of the area.

He also pledged to closely work with the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) in order to make Igbo-Etiti a preferred destination for filmmaking in the South East.

Odo made this known on Monday when members of AGN, Nsukka Satellite Zone, led by their Co-ordinator, Mr. Chineme Agu paid him a courtesy visit in Ogbede.

According to him, there is no better way to tell the story of people or place other than acting it out, saying Igbo-Etiti would tell their story.

He promised to provide adequate security around tourism sites in the area to ensure that actors or actresses coming for film production are protected.

The council boss then commended the AGN for the impact they are making as well as the opportunity they had provided to talented-youths to showcase their talents.

While adding that it had helped to curb youth restiveness in the country, Odo commended the leadership of the group in the zone for maintaining integrity and openness in its activities.

Earlier, the leader of the group, Mr. Chineme Agu expressed their readiness to partner with the government and solicited for an office space to carry out their activities.

Agu commended the chairman for the good work his administration is doing, adding that the world has seen his transformative works in Igbo-Etiti.

He urged the council chairman not to be distracted by the critics of those he described as opposition, stressing that the AGN is proud of his achievements in office.
