Calls For Sustainability Of Soludo’s Legacy In Anambra.

The South East Traditional Rulers Council, comprising delegates from Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Abia, and Ebonyi States, has charged Igbo monarchs with the responsibility of fostering unity and promoting core cultural ethics across their communities.

The royal fathers made this call during a two-day South East Traditional Rulers Council Delegate Meeting held at the International Convention Center in Awka, Anambra State.

The program which also featured inspection tour of key infrastructural projects initiated under the administration of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo by the traditional rulers delegates was led by the State Commissioner for Works, Engr Ifeanyi Okoma, his Local Government/Chieftaincy Affairs counterpart, Mr Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne.

Speaking after the tour, the Chairman of the South East Traditional Rulers Council and traditional ruler of Amaifeke in Imo State, HRM Eze (Dr.) Emmanuel C. Okeke, praised the Anambra State Governor for his transformational leadership.

Describing Governor Soludo as one of the most dedicated leaders since Nigeria’s return to democratic governance in 1999, Eze Okeke stated:

“Governor Soludo has demonstrated an extraordinary vision by transforming Anambra into a destination state beyond human imagination. We are proud of his achievements and will continue to support him in realizing his good plans for Ndi Anambra, the South East region, and Nigeria as a whole.”

The monarch expressed particular satisfaction with the nearly completed Anambra State Government House and Lodge complex and also the Solution Fun City. He described both as symbolic of purposeful leadership and evidence of Soludo’s commitment to infrastructural development.

Eze Okeke also called on other South East governors to emulate the Anambra governor’s developmental strides, stressing that regional growth depends on strategic investments in infrastructure, culture, and people-centered governance.

Also speaking, the Chairman, Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council (ASTRC), HRM Igwe Chidubem Iweka, commended Governor Soludo for his unwavering commitment and support towards the welfare of traditional rulers in the state and the region as a whole and assured him of their continous partnership towards the actualization of the solution agenda.

In his remarks, the Contractor handling the Government House project, Engr. Ikechukwu Nnahasi stated that Governor Soludo as a visionary leader and seasoned administrator has expressed an unquenchable flare for a world-class sustainable infrastructure in Awka, hence the state-of-the-art facilities and features everybody is witnessing today. He appealed to the citizens to support Soludo’s good vision for the state to a successful end.

In their seperate interviews, the Chairman of Enugu Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Samuel Asadu, the Traditional ruler of Ogbunka community, Igwe John Mark Anyaoha (Nka I of Ogbunka) and the traditional ruler of Umueri community, Igwe Sir Ben Emeka (Okebo II) applauded the Anambra State Governor for his giant strides and called for renewed commitment from the monarchs to uphold discipline, foster cultural preservation, and work collaboratively to ensure peace and sustainable development in the region.

Addressing the Traditional Rulers, Governor Soludo commended the Monarchs for chosing Anambra for 2025 South East Traditional Rulers Council Delegates Meeting and stressed on the need for each stakeholder playing a vital role in the region’s advancement, emphasizing that collaboration is key to building the South East of their dreams.

The Governor further urged the Monarch to unite and work with various forces to reclaim their homeland. He also called for renewed focus on the values of hard work, enterprise and integrity to address the ongoing clash of cultures and religions, which has resulted in celebration of ill-gotten wealth and other vices in the society.
