A meeting of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Nsukka Satellite Zone, held on March 28, 2025, at the Old Carolina Hotel, Beach Junction, Nsukka, was marred by controversy and resistance to the new Acting Coordinator, Mr. Agu Chineme Enyiduru.

The meeting, which started late at 5:30 pm, was called by the outgoing Coordinator, Mr. Ken. However, the atmosphere was tense, with some members expressing dissatisfaction with the appointment of Mr. Enyiduru by the Enugu State Chapter Chairman, Mr. Brown Ene.

Mr. Enyiduru, in his address, stated that his appointment was aimed at brokering peace among the old and new members of the guild. He reminded members that the Enugu State Chapter Chairman has the constitutional power to appoint coordinators, a practice that has been in place since the establishment of AGN Nsukka Satellite zone in 2004.

Mr. Enyiduru established the AGN Nsukka Satellite zone office at Ikenga Hotel and Resort Nsukka in 2004. Shortly after, the Enugu State Chapter Chairman, late Chief Pete Eneh, appointed twin brothers as acting coordinators, without providing written documentation. Mr. Enyiduru did not contest the appointment and instead chose to maintain peace.

In his conclusion, Mr. Enyiduru advised all members to abide by the constitution of AGN and reminded them that any unauthorized meeting should be regarded as invalid. He encouraged dedicated members to continue obeying the constitution and invited interested individuals to join the guild.

The meeting highlighted the deep-seated divisions within the AGN Nsukka Satellite Zone, with the new Acting Coordinator facing an uphill task in reconciling the warring factions. Despite the challenges, Mr. Enyiduru remains optimistic, stating that Nsukka will soon regain its position as a hub for film production, with producers and directors returning to the area.
