By Chineme Ijeoma reporting....
A disturbing allegation has emerged from Comrade Timi Frank, former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, of plotting to block funds allocation to 22 Local Government Councils in Rivers State.
According to Frank, Wike's plan involves securing a court injunction to halt releases from the Federation Account, citing alleged violations of a court ruling in the recent local government elections held on October 5, 2024.

Frank urges Wike to abandon this plot and instead resolve his differences with Governor Siminalayi Fubara through alternative means ¹. He also cautions President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to allow Wike's actions to undermine his democratic credentials, drawing parallels with the experiences of local councils in Lagos State during Tinubu's tenure as Governor.
Key Concerns:
Economic Disruption: Blocking funds allocation could lead to economic instability in Rivers State and Nigeria at large.
Democratic Reversal: Such actions may undermine democratic gains made since 1999 and mirror undemocratic scenarios in some West African states.
Judicial Integrity: Frank warns judges and justices against granting frivolous prayers that may perpetuate Wike's alleged agenda.
Police Neutrality: He condemns the partisan role of the police in Rivers State's political crises, urging them to protect all citizens impartially.
Frank congratulates the people of Rivers State on successfully electing their council representatives and encourages them to support Governor Fubara amidst these challenges.
