UGAA INAUGURATES NEW LEADERSHIP: CHIEF BARR IFESI NWODO REFLECTS ON TENURE.

Abuja, FCT - October 6, 2024 - The Ukehe General Assembly Abuja (UGAA) has inaugurated its new leadership, marking a significant milestone in the association's history. Outgoing Chairman, Chief Barr Ifesi Nwodo, delivered a heartfelt speech, chronicling the association's journey and highlighting his administration's notable achievements.

Established in 1998, UGAA aims to support distressed Ukehe indigenes in Abuja, ensuring no Ukehe native is buried outside their homeland. Chief Nwodo traced the association's evolution, from its humble beginnings in Jabi to its current stature.

Key Achievements Under Chief Nwodo's Leadership:

- _Organizational Growth_: UGAA's visibility increased through social media and stakeholder engagement.

- _Community Service_: The association freed four Nigerians from the Nigeria Correction Center, Keffi, and provided COVID-19 palliatives to 40 Ukehe indigenes.

- _Financial Stability_: UGAA's finances grew from hundreds to millions.

- _Unity and Expansion_: The association united its branches, including Kubwa and Kuje.

- _Cultural Preservation_: Recovery of traditional music (Akwuruechenyi) and constitution of a managing committee.

Chief Nwodo expressed gratitude to his team and members, acknowledging the challenges and triumphs of his tenure. He concluded by wishing the new leadership success and urging continued unity and progress.

The inauguration ceremony, held at Tickles Garden, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, was attended by esteemed members, ambassadors, elders, and stakeholders.

As UGAA embarks on a new chapter, its commitment to serving Ukehe indigenes and promoting community development remains unwavering.
